Chocolate Covered Glitter Strawberry Hearts

Some believe that the pairing of chocolate and strawberries produce an uncontrollable aphrodisiac affect. Hence, the need to share these juicy, sparkling, heart-shaped confections to the romantic apple of your eye this Valentine’s Day. Include a tall stem of bubbling champagne and whisk yourselves into Romance Land…

Ingredients:

Strawberries, 1 large package, nice & plump

Dark chocolate, almond bark is nice and melts easily, but semi sweet morsels can be used as well.

White chocolate or almond bark

Toothpicks

Directions:

Cut fresh strawberries in half, place cut side down onto baking sheet covered with parchment or waxed paper. Secure with a toothpick. Your berries will take on a heart shape. Freeze for at least 45 minutes, but longer is fine too. Melt dark chocolate right before you remove the berries from the freezer.

Remove from freezer. Holding one end of the toothpick, dip strawberries in melted chocolate, trying to get the whole strawberry covered.

Set them on a piece of waxed paper, cut side down, remove toothpicks and dry completely You can also pop them into the freezer again for a few minutes until chocolate is set. Cut away any excess chocolate.

Melt the white chocolate and drizzle on top of the hearts. Sprinkle with red sugar, sugar glitter or crushed toffee.
